Yes, children can benefit from chiropractic care. Children are very active and experience many types of falls and blows from activities of daily living. Chiropractic care is always adapted to the individual patient. It is very gentle and children respond quite well to chiropractic care.
Why is there a popping sound when a joint is adjusted?
An adjustment or manipulation of a joint may result in the release of a gas bubble between the joints, which makes a popping sound. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, which results in the gas bubbles being released. There is usually minimal, if any, discomfort involved.
How long is typical treatment?
The first visit is usually around 60 minutes. Treatment after this initial visit is usually 30 minutes.
How many times do I need to be treated?
This is dependent on the injury, your past history, and how well you follow home care instruction. Sometimes once a month is enough, and sometimes with more serious conditions, 3-4x a week is needed until you are feeling better.
